Magnum Kiosk

A versatile and flexible information utility solution for health providers


Magnum Kiosk is a highly flexible and scalable information utility tool, designed especially for Healthcare Providers. It is compatible across platforms and can be easily integrated with either the Hospital's Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or HealthFore's state-of-the-art Total Hospital Information System, Magnum HIS.

 

Magnum Kiosk has been developed using the latest technologies from Microsoft. These technologies include Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and CardSpace. Magnum Kiosk enables easy check- in and check- out processes for patients, visitors and hospital users:

 

This mode is primarily intended for visitors and provides information about the hospital and the services. Various customizable options in this mode include:

 

Patient Information

This sub-module covers details about the hospital’s patient facilities and procedures performed. The interface also has a screen through which visitors can query information about doctors, services and packages, as well as provide feedback.

 

Our Hospitals

A highly useful feature for a hospital chain. This sub-module can be designed to provides details of all other network branches.

 

Pursuit of Excellence

This sub-module provides a listing of the hospital’s achievements includes awards and accolades won, accreditations received, medical milestones achieved, quality assurances provided, and various collaboration details. It also contains a listing of achievers within the hospital.

 

About Us

This sub-module provides basic information about the hospital. These are contained under the eponymous headings- Overview, Mission and Vision, Executive Leadership and Contact Us. For publicly listed providers, Investor Information tab is also provided.

 

News and Latest Offers

This sub-module contains information on the hospital’s latest offers, community initiatives, corporate health programs, publications and patient education programs.

 

This can be accessed by patients who are registered users with the hospital, and it contains highly enabling and patient-friendly features:

 

My Care

This sub-module contains the Patient’s Health Record (PHR), which has demographic details and medication history of the individual for quick, secure and easy access. It also outlines pre-requisites for admissions, and allows the user to make pre-admission requests and appointment bookings. Further, The My Physician feature contains details of each hospital visit by the patient.

 

My Stay

This sub-module includes features which are relevant to the patient’s stay at the hospital and can be accessed either from a kiosk or from the television in the room. These include:

  • My Healthcare Team- This is a listing of the team attending to the patient, including doctors and nurses.
  • My Movements- This contains details of transfers and any other movement during that visit.
  • Leaving the Hospital- This is a checklist that needs to be reviewed before a patient leaves the hospital after being discharged.
  • Billing/Insurance Details- This contains all the financial details for that visit, updated in real time.
  • Walkthrough- This is a virtual walkthrough of the hospital. It allows a user to traverse the hospital premises virtually. The sub-module also contains a Bed Transfer Request screen.


My Toolbox

This provides generic features like e-mail, communication tools (including applications like Skype, Hospital EPABX etc.), research (Patient education material) and also contains a FAQ section.

 

My Entertainment

This sub-module focuses on entertainment and allows the patient to read books, watch movies, and hear music on purchase. The patient can also use it to shop online for items such as clothes and toys. Another feature of this sub-module is its ability to allow the patient to play games on the television in his room.

 

Staff Details

This sub-module contains details related to the staff. These include their contact details, medical schedules of the patient, and details of the room / ward. It can also be used to make requests for maintenance and provides various other call staff functionalities.

 

Commonly Used

This sub-module is akin to a Favourites section and lists the six features used most commonly by a patient, thus enabling rapid access.

 

This mode allows Hospital Users to access certain functions either via the Kiosk or through a Tablet PC. It contains various high-level features, which include :

 

Patient Tracking

Patients are tracked in three dimensional graphics through this feature.

 

Staff Tracking

Using this screen, a staff member’s present location can be pinpointed in real time using 3D graphics.

 

Bed Status

This screen allows the user to locate vacant beds to suit requirements. This is done using various filter criteria. This screen also provides information on beds under maintenance, reserved beds, and retained beds, among others.

 

Bed Swapping-

- This feature allows the user to swap patients across wards.

 

Bed Allocation

This feature simplifies the process of bed allocation for patients.
